These are 4 key principles that my clients learn to master to lose fat sustainably and ditch the diet culture. During the program, we break down and integrate the components into daily practices. These include eating skills to conquer overeating/binge eating, implementing nutritional guidelines, and improving lifestyle and fitness by making small tweaks all the way.
M - Macros
Nutrition made simple. Not all nutritional decisions hold the same weight in terms of outcomes. As a chronic dieter, we have a graveyard of “do’s and don’ts” when it comes to food rules. We learn how to differentiate what is nutritionally important and what creates food noise in our heads. I’ll walk you through how to balance your plate, how to track macros (without being obsessive), as well as how to read nutrition labels.
M - Mindset
This principle is about bringing awareness to our all-or-nothing mentality, perfectionism tendencies, and recognizing how diet culture influences decisions and actions around food. By developing a growth mindset, we can improve our emotional tolerance by gathering evidence that we can trust ourselves around food again. It is a daily practice that becomes automated and effortless so we can eat "normally" again.
M - Moderation
This principle teaches us how to navigate the middle between starving and stuffed. Many of us operate on these two extremes without understanding the nuanced steps in between. This is not like another diet that tells you to eat every three hours or by a clock with specific portion sizes. Moderation is not an amount of food; it is a feeling of being comfortably full and satisfied instead of overeating or binge eating. This is a learned skill formed from a specific set of tools and strategies.
M - Management
This tenet introduces how we interact in any food situation. We want to learn to eat the same way by ourselves as we do around people. Finding ownership in our choices in any situation at any time invites empowerment not intimidation.
